Grab your favorite book - It's time to read with Andalo!  Andalo will be visiting the library for reading time @ the Main Library Saturdays Sept. 11th, and Oct. 9th from 12:30 to 1:30. He will be at Cradock Saturdays Sept. 25th and Oct. 23rd from 12:30 to 1:30.  Presented by the Children's Museum.
 

  

Two-Time A weekly event for children between the ages of 18 and 36 months. The program includes a story time followed by fun activities that will help your child learn some of the pre-literacy skills that are important for later school success. Parents who register and attend at least 4 programs will receive a library tote bag and a board book. held on Saturday Sept 18th- Oct 23rd. To register click Here... I Love my Librarian awards! Nominations are now open for the 2010 Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award. The award program invites library users across the United States to recognize the accomplishments of librarians in public, school, college, community college, and university libraries for their efforts to improve the lives of people in their community. Bookclub Have you always meant to read the classics, but never got around to it? Are you behind on your bestsellers? Dying to discuss the latest mystery? Then come to a meeting of the Portsmouth Book Group on Monday, September 13th @ 6:30 pm. Bring your ideas and the titles of those books you’ve always wanted to read.  We will be reading The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett Call 393-8759 and ask for Mary Hodges for more information.

 Join us for Babygarten at the Main Library, a fun and exciting, and informational program for infants and their caregivers. Babygarten classes focus on how nursery rhymes, songs, and books can enrich your children’s lives from the very beginning and provide them with a foundation for later learning success. Friends booksale

Friends of the Portsmouth Public Library.  Monthly Book Sale "Books By The Inch" Saturday, August 14th 10am - 4pm (open to the public).  Preview for members only is Friday August 13th from 3-6 pm.  Membership available onsite.
